There is always a place in cinema for lunkheads, especially those that come from wrestling, a form of comedy, and the majority of scripts for movies. Who can forget Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride or Jesse Ventura in Predator (before become governor of Minnesota)? There was also the beloved bald Tor Johnson, Swedish scrapper turned zombie to Ed Wood Plan 9 from Outer Space.

The only fun thing about Tooth Fairy is a comedy that is genuinely field. In the hands of director Michael Lembeck, who did Connie and Carla, dressed in a tutu and Johnson Julie Andrews plays a fairy godmother in a Chanel suit. Someone of the caliber of Ashley Judd is doing in the movie is a mystery but I'm not complaining. And it is not Billy Crystal dressed as a leprechaun smart-mouth, aging?
The big plays ice hockey enforcer Derek Tooth Fairy''''Thompson, which is famous for pulling out the teeth of their opponents. He is nearing the end of his sporting career and shows his cynicism when he tells a kid to hope that he never gonna be a star hockey. Babysitting for his girlfriend (Judd), he says his daughter almost six years that the tooth fairy does not exist.
That night in a dream is referred to the fairy realm, where a very high English fairy (Stephen Merchant) explains that he must be punished. Andrews descends from heaven like a duchess, scented wings than likes to be interrupted – a bit like an aging Mary Poppins with attitude. She sentences him to two weeks as a real tooth fairy, and Crystal kits you with a set of fairy Dent tools: a necklace to become invisible, a stick and powder to erase the memories of people. He eventually satin dress blue, after a mess the magic that sets it in a pink tutu.
The movie is funnier than I expected and yet not funny enough. The playfulness in the script can have come from Babaloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz – two seasoned pros – although I can not tell if it was your idea. They have longstanding ties to the Crystal and Judd, which could explain your casting, but Ganz and Mandel are also known script doctors, and there are three other scribes credited.
Whatever, the film bubbles along fine for the first few reels, as the Rock is Samoan in a series of pickles while hidden in children's rooms (to put a dollar under the pillow). Johnson feigns indignation at having to be a fairy; fields Andrews him as its head, behind the lens gauzed; Judd as she tries to look like selfish that mountain of flesh.
Ideology and then reproduces the film becomes a boring lecture on the need to believe in fairies and dreams. Cynicism is forwarded etc.
It is only praise for say that this is the best comedy than The Game Plan. Johnson is not aiming high anyway – and he got it.
