One or more characters winning a number of challenges. There are four key challenges: a) Inside the Challenge, b) the Romantic Challenge, c) the exterior Challenge d) the greater antagonism:
In "American Beauty" (Oscar winner for Best Picture 1999), Lester Burnham's Inner Challenge is to feel good about himself, his Romantic Challenge is Angela, your Challenge is outside his marriage to Carolyn and the Greater Antagonism is Col. Frank Fitts, U.S. Marine Core.
The four main challenges is least used in Spiderman 3:
a) Romantic Challenge: Peter and MJ diverge before they converge.
b) Challenge Internal: We all have one choice: the battle of Peter with his other self.
c) Exterior Challenge: MJ tells Peter that "everyone needs someone, even Spider-Man. "Finally, he enlists the help of Harry.
d) Increased antagonistic: Peter eventually have to battle Sandman / Flint Marko and Venom / Eddie Brock.
