Silver Surfer Planet Eater

What does Silver Surfer fight for in the second fantastic four movie?

Is it to keep his planet alive? Is his planet that one that he projected on his torso? Does his race live their alive? And when he “exploded” himself to destroy that evil planet eater did he destroy his planet with his girlfriend? Or was his girlfriend already dead?
when he destroyed galactacus did he destroy his home planet?

I don’t think the movie is entirely true to the comics.. though I haven’t seen this movie.

But the Silver Surfer originally gave himself up as a servant or ‘herald’ to the world eating entity known as Galactus in exchange for his homeworld being spared. He had a few romances throughout his life but mostly they project him as a cool, emotionless entity that is always very focused on whatever mission is at hand.

I’m suprised if what you said is true and he ‘exploded’ himself to kill Galactus. Galactus existed before the big bang and was considered one of the three entities in the Marvel Universe neccessary for reality to continue existing (in other words, his existance is neccessary for the universe to remain balanced, if he were to be killed somehow, the universe would unravel and be destroyed).

For all intents and purposes Galactus is a god-like being of immense power (call ‘power cosmic’) and he gave the Silver Surfer just a tiny bit of that power (which is still a LOT) to go ahead and scout for planets ahead of him so that he (Galactus) could eat them.
