Silver Surfer Movie Cast

If the Silver Surfer Comic Book will be the last movie made before the genre takes a well needed break?

We're almost over it now. Batman Begins was great, the Xmen 3 was average to say the least, and Superman …. who knows I think the public is just about the "over" movie genre Comic Book over the next 10 years. We seem to go in waves … Horror, Disasters, Adventure, Science Fiction .. and now recently, thanks to advanced FX .. comic heros. With the special effects available, and about "one more" great film left in the genre before we all revolt … if the next movie comic book will be in production "The Silver Surfer"? If so you cast in the lead, or do you think the SURFER would have to be completely CGI? And if they do not herald the Silver Surfer for the genre … then who? Good Luck Jimmy

I think there must be a distinction between "Comic Book" films and "Super Hero" movies. Sin City, Ghost World, 300 (in production), A History of Violence (I know there are many I left out) are all good movies culled from comic books that do not involve superheroes. If the filmakers stick and use it properly with the material there are plenty of good stories in each category to keep it for a long time. And why not. It's comics over time were recognized for their literary contributions and cultural. But Hollywood has a tendency to have big ideas and dumb them to affect a greater mass appeal. It is for the paying public to see these films to control the downward spiral.
