Assuming you have Windows XP Home or Pro If both your PC `s connected to the Internet can create a home network. You can also (after the establishment of the network) just set up printer sharing. First open: – Start / Help and Support / then type create a home network in the search box. To connect to a printer attached to another computer printer must be shared so you can connect to it. Open Printers and Faxes. Under Printer Tasks, click Add Printer to open the Add Printer Wizard and click Next. Click on network printer, or printer connected to another computer and then click Next. Call the desired printer using the following three methods. Click a method for instructions. Browse for a printer. Click Browse to a printer and click Next. In the list of shared printers, click the printer you want to connect. Notes From the list, printers are indicated by an icon of a printer followed by your name. An icon of a computer displays a computer that has at least one printer attached to it. To see the printer, double-click the Computer icon. When you click a printer icon, his name appears in the printer box. Click Next. Enter printer name. Click Connect to this printer. In the Name box, type the name of the printer using the following format: computername printer_name Click Next. Connect to the Internet or an intranet printer. Using a URL of the printer allows you to connect to a printer via the Internet, provided you have permission to use that printer. If you can not connect the printer using the URL below general format, see the documentation for your printer. Click Connect to a printer on the Internet or a network home or office. Enter the URL for the printer using the following format: http://printserver_name/Printers/share_name/.printer Click Next. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish connecting the printer. The printer icon appears in the folder Printers and Faxes. Notes To open Printers and Faxes, click Start, Control Panel control, and double-click Printers and Faxes, then. Once you have connected to a shared network printer, you can use it as if it were attached to your computer
