Close Encounters Of The Kind comic'al!

It's a bird … It's a plane …. Pravin Nair is!

I awoke from my dream.Damn, the shrill alarm clock. It always had to yell over what does not (or is appropriate?) times .. It was an amazing dream.

I had just saved the world from the vile intrigues of Lex Luthor, my greater villain.I was breaking in my red cape and was about to kiss the love of my life, Lois Lane, when dammit, I have 'alarm'ed.

I was smiling myself.A the film in Technicolor detail, vivid and spectacular.I hero was probably first and last time.

And I did it real usually using my inners on my bodysuit:)

I grew up on a diet of comics and children's books.

Literally.Like all kids my age, I was obsessed with comics. So, if it was to be the "Marvel'lous superheroes (Spider-Man Incredible Hulk, and the gang), the 'Action heroes (Superman) DC Comics (Batman), stories comic books was my salvation ..

Comics transported me to the world of fantasy. You must have heard the expression Boys with toys' Well, Comics were my toys. Without another avenue for entertainment and does not kick my hormones and the advent of Baywatch, Pamela Anderson And Playboy (in that order) has yet to happen, comics pastime.Every issue was the favorite comic of my new favorite superhero would be a pleasure. With sweaty palms and a heart pounding out excited so high you'd be afraid it would burst, I remember holding a new issue, like the love of my life.

I think one thing comics clearly taught me was "hero worship".

I remember imitate, dress (yes, my fantasies were so innocent then) rescue trapped, afraid civilians. My favorite fantasy got the right train in their tracks with the force of my train arms. The here would be my cousin who was trying to push me (of course it was a mock pulse, he was old for me).
I would push back and he stopped in his tracks, he would give me a false sense of strength.Yessir, the train comes to a screeching halt without brakes.Look ma, no sweat, just hands! I also remember foolishly jumping from balconies, trying to imitate Superman, landing on my butt, and ensure a real toothache very few chipped days.A is what I have left as a souvenir.

I think even now, I was not totally cured of these superheroes fantasies.Like displaying bravado fool to accept a guy twice my size (not exaggerating Yes, it happened at the local train, but that's another story).

So why comics and superhero play such an important role in our lives? I believe it is because as human beings, from infancy, we believe in magic and minds are miracles. Our pre-arranged very positive and this, for the magician. We believe in the mythical figures that fly, that can move mountains and kill evil. We see the triumph of good over evil. And that is why we need a hero worshiping hero. This then takes different forms and structures, which extends to other areas such as sports, politics, films. Superheroes become very important markers of pop culture. They represent all that is fantastic. All the qualities we aspire to or about.Strength dream, courage, strength muscle victory. Sacrifice. They make icons.

All comics with superheroes of mythology borrow extensively (Can not cover in this blog, it would be extended). For example, the mythical Greek Achilles, the warrior was all-powerful, except for a weakness, the heel. Legend has it that as a baby who was immersed in the river Styxian to do it, but omnipotent esposed heels and were not submerged in the waters .. Thus, Achilles became powerful in all except for his Achilles heel heel.So enter our collective phraseology, referring to any weaknesses that may leave us vulnerable or well, make us … heel. :-)

Also, in Hindu mythology, the Achilles Heel Duryodhana is really his thigh! He loses battle to Bhima, when a coup is Strategically located in the thigh .. My point is, they were first superheroes.Characters as Rama or Krishna. Yes, they do not wore capes, or spin webs. But took into monsters, led an army of people, was beloved by all, and they respected humanity.
