marvel zombies?
i saw a comic book in hot topic called “marvel zombies” it has a cover of all the marvel superheroes only they are zombie looking and i just want to know what is it about.
The series is set in an alternate version of the Marvel Universe where almost all superheroes and supervillans have become flesh-eating zombies. The series was written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Sean Phillips, with painted covers by Arthur Suydam. Marvel Zombies #1 begins with Magneto surviving the explosion, but appearing to be the only uninfected person around. Before being caught and eaten by the zombies, Magneto learns that the the Acolytes have survived on Asteroid M.
Basically, Marvel Zombies was just a way for the Marvel writers to have fun and show an alternate Earth where zombies rule and cash in on the current horror boom. It became popular enough to have 3 reprintings (The cover of each issue of the Marvel Zombies mini-series ia a parody and/or homage of a famous cover from Marvel history, featuring zombie versions of the characters.) and a hardback book containing all 5 comics. Overall, fun story and since the zombies can talk and feel, it still allows the characters to shine through, Gotta love Spidey being angst ridden about eating Aunt May and Mary Jane. LOL
