The Wonder 'in Wonder Woman Comics
Wonder Woman comic, always carried the theme of strong, independent women. This can be attributed to Elizabeth Holloway Marston, wife of the character's creator William Moulton Marston (who also invented the polygraph). It was his idea to create a super-heroine, while her husband was contacted for what would become DC Comics to write something for them after reading an interview he had done on the potential educational value of comics.
A member the legendary Amazons, Diana Prince, AKA, Wonder Woman was imbued with super strength and other powers of the gods, and armed with her silver bracelets and lasso of truth. She was tall, pretty and sexy, and she was heroic. It was founded on morality and fought for the good of his people and innocent people everywhere. She was feminine and powerful at the same time.
After Crisis on Infinite Earths, many aspects of Wonder Woman have changed. For example, before the crisis had powers of mind that comes from training with the Amazons that allowed him to channel strength in their muscles, which gave him super strength. However, post-Crisis she was with the powers of the gods, among others. Now, it can also fly, for example.
Whatever powers of the Greek gods Wonder Woman has theoretically. She has access to flight, super strength, super speed, and many other skills, which have not been fully realized. She is possibly the most powerful character in the DC Universe, perhaps even more powerful than Superman. She is certainly its equal in terms of resistance, at least.
Most recently at the Wonder Woman comic book character has taken a darker turn. After the death of Justice League of America member Blue Beetle, Wonder Woman killed Max Lord and tracked, the man responsible for killing Blue Beetle. Due to this act, which was incidentally shot and broadcast to the world, no one looks at Wonder Woman the same. It is also noteworthy, however, that, when Max Lord had control over Superman, that was being used to attack innocent people and other heroes. If she had not killed Lord Superman would have been the deadliest weapon in the world. But Superman and Batman do not see it this way.
Following this occurrence, Diana went into hiding, but has since resurfaced and enhanced its role as the true Wonder Woman.
What the future holds for the Wonder Woman comic is always uncertain. Sales were not always great, but the character has always been very popular. Now that Superman and Batman has apparently managed to pass Max Lord killing at the hands of Wonder Woman, all three have restored the Justice League of America and are facing new problems and adventures.
