BLADE COMIC BOOK MOVIES and other media

Created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan in 1973, the first appearance in comics as a Blade supporting character in The Tomb of Dracula # 10 by Marvel Comics. Over the years, Blade appeared in back up stories and made guest appearances, but it was not until the mid-90s when the first Blade comic book came out. From there, Blade has gained popularity and eventually branched out into other forms media.

In 1998, the first comic book Blade to the big screen adaptation was released. starring Wesley Snipes as the Daywalker, and Kris Kristofferson as Whistler, the film centered around trying Blade avenge the death of his mother by vampires. However, the vampires of pure blood has gone to war with those who were transformed into humans. As the film progresses Blade discovers that her mother was transformed, and who was the head vampire, Frost, who bit while she was pregnant, why Blade has symptoms of vampires, but none of the weaknesses. The film was loosely based Blade comic book, although mainly the latter, and is sometimes seen as the film that started the revolution in comics movie, once prior to the first Spider-Man movie.

Blade II, the sequel to the film, also loosely based on the comic book Blade came out in 2002 after the success of other film-related band drawn as Spider-Man and X-Men. In this movie there is a new breed of vampires called Reapers who feeds off humans and vampires, thanks to an irresistible bloodlust and improved. Those who survive the attacks from the Reapers Reapers become. To stop the Reapers, Blade is forced to join with the regular vampires, the Shadow Council or Bloodpack as could only defeat them. Eventually, of course, the Bloodpack betray him and he has to beat them all alone. Fortunately, he finally discovers that ultraviolet light kill the Reapers. This particular Blade comic flick is the most popular of the three and made the best of the three at the box office too.

The third comic book movie was Blade Blade: Trinity, and was released in 2004. vampires invent a plan to have Blade accused of killing human beings, and they are successful in doing so. Now, to run from the FBI, Blade must unite with the Nightstalkers, a group of human vampire hunters led by Whistler's daughter, and go hunting for the original vampire Drake, also known as Dracula.

The future of Comic Book Blade is now uncertain after a lawsuit filed by Snipes, and Snipes is now serving a prison sentence for federal income tax offenses.

In other media, two video games based on the first two Blade movies comics were released for the PlayStation and Xbox platforms. And a short-lived television series based on the book Blade comic film was shown on Spike in 2006.
