What is easier to break into: Japanese Comics or Mainstream Comics (eg Marvel, DC Comics)?
For someone who is from Australia. I paint in the style of manga and anime, but I know that Japan may be difficult to break into judge the competition fierce and the language barrier. It's so hard to penetrate the U.S. market? As for Diamond Comic Distributors or something? What is easier, Japan or any other places?
I guess American comics would be easier to break. There are many more companies, being a major country and all. In addition, the manga is much more difficult to create. Deadlines are hard and some much faster. American comics are better planned, not to mention shorter. Language barrier would be a huge problem too. From artists manga are so stressed and busy that we do not have time to worry about someone who can barely speak Japanese.
