The birth and growth of Marvel Comics Ultimate line
What does an editor do when your comic continuity is complicated and they need to reinvigorate its main lines and capture new readers and interest of your characters again, but they do not want to change the regular line? Create a new line, of course! And so final line of Marvel Comics was conceived and implemented, and has had a monumental success.
Launched in 2000 with a title, Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel Comics final line scheduled to be the most popular Marvel characters return for one day and reimagine to attract new readers to the flock. By doing events, updated and expressions colloquialisms and slang, and so on to be more accessible to readers today. A year later, two more books in the final line of Marvel Comics, have been launched, Ultimate X-Men and The Ultimates, Marvel Comics version of the final line of the Avengers. Not long after that came the first family of Marvel Comics line with the final Ultimate Fantastic Four.
Without wanting to grow up too fast, except for the occasional book Team-Up, Marvel Comics end of line was restricted to these four books, which included the four Marvel's major properties. Some of the books were darker, more realistic and more mature, like The Ultimates, while others were more kid-friendly and fun, like Ultimate Spider-Man. In fact, the popularity of the Ultimate Spider-Man is what triggered the Marvel Comics line end to critical acclaim. After years of lackluster Spider-Man titles in the main universe Marvel (referred to as the 616), this new book has brought back the fun and innocence of the character that originally fell in love all around the 70s. And with the creative team the superstar Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley, who worked on the book together for more than 100 consecutive editions, the book could not go wrong.
Although Ultimates was confronted with delay, the other books and readers remained continued to meet the new Marvel Comics endline. It was there that they found the kinds of stories who longed for in the 616. During the night, the final line was Marvel Comics Marvel characters new life and interest to them. He also showed wonder that fans wanted, and although it has not always been done more, some of them that creativity has been applied to 616 waiting (to a certain degree of success), which would also be strengthened and gain a new interest.
More recently, Marvel Ultimate line of comics has seen the seeds planted by his first big crossover. Eight years in the making, Marvel Comics finish line came into its own and stole the hearts of readers young age.
