"Mainstream" Comics With Sexual (almost pornographic) strong content?
By mainstream I mean not like DC or Marvel only one of which would be sold in a bookstore like B & N instead of an adult bookstore. I'm thinking of writing a comic book and parts that will deal with sex and sexuality and relationships and jazz, and I do not want to cheapen it by showing the characters to strip the panel next show them after sex, smoking, and with the sheets to up and folded back on any "naughty" bits. I think if you want to show that sex should only show it honestly and not tiptoe around it. I I'm not saying that I will write a 12 page fuckfest time (though I could, manga seems to be able to get away with it all the time). So my question is whether there some comics like this that has been even slightly successful (and not just sex from cover to cover)?
But the problem is that when you show the bits, it becomes "Adult" pubic hair period drived people nuts. No, not that you can not tell a story like that (Omaha dancer Cat is the best example), but is relegated to a publisher as Eros Comics (which has to send its catalog under the guidance of "Rose Comics") What this means is that your market is limited. B & N will sell the steamiest erotic novels, but not perverted comics
