Ironman Triathlon Training Plans

Ironman Triathlon next year?
A friend is up to the Ironman UK next August and is trying to convince me to do it with him. I have been doing sprint distance and 04/03 events throughout the summer so I am quite fit, but it would be too much to go to the Ironman in a year? I do not I want to be stupid about it or end up with injuries that I'll have for the rest of my life. I saw a month of training plan-8 on the web that looks pretty good, starting in January. But what I do in the next 3-4 months to prepare myself for all that training and minimize the risk of injury? Any comments welcome, and perhaps "What the hell are you thinking that crazy idiot." Thanks xx
8 months sounds like a good period of preparation for someone who already is quite adequate. Anticipating that you can spend time on your bike. Bike traffic handling and to improve the efficiency with experience and more time in the saddle the better. In addition, there have been several deaths of triathletes on the roads this year and I wonder if this is the result of people leaving the streets to make an intensive training without a enough experience. Lesions – the ITB, which runs off your leg is very fashionable at the time of damage. Foam roller massage and things to think about for your long training. Getting miles in his legs before the intensive training would help. Core conditioning is recommended and do a pilates class with a good instructor is a good idea long-term before or in conjunction with your training principal.
