Half Ironman Distance Training Plan

2008 January 14

Half Ironman Coaching

I'm sitting here in front of my computer, exhausted. I deserve to go to a race right now. Implementation, however, seems to be as difficult as all I am able to think of everything I still need to do tonight, this week, this month and, of course, on each a reason why I do not should go to a race. But I'm going to go.

I enrolled to do a triathlon and is now just weeks away. I have never trained for an event long distance, and I learned a way to swim after I enrolled. Also, I'm built more like a rugby player than a tri-athlete.

Precise run and train, because I want to be successful in a triathlon.

Now let's take a look at you. Let me guess, you're much too tired? You 're feeling like not enough time during the day. You'd rather be watching television than running. And, well, you're not likely triathlon coach or anything, but let me ask you: why not? What leads you to go and do something? What or who makes you go every day? You is sitting at home, now leaving the min pass by you, or you're doing the minutes pass by? You have the sense of achievement in all aspects of your life?

Every time I'm getting up and going out for a run, bike or swim, I realize I'm not special. So what if I am employed long hours and have two roles when there are family and friends I want to spend time with? There are countless people who have limited hours and still find time to get a daily workout before retiring to bed, the masses of people doing exactly what I do, if not more so. Getting targeted in their long-term goals helps you get through the daily grind.

I changed my career and track career. I withdrew my parents and friends of life, lost a friend, bought a house, started a business skill, got engaged and married and had a honeymoon in Europe throughout the month. Also, I ran my first 5km race, I ran my first half marathon, walked the Great Ravine and more recently planned and walked the West Coast Trail.

I concentrated on my vision the long term. If I did not do everyday tasks, so I would not be able to look back on my past year with pride and accomplishment. The Life could have easily passed me by! It is now 20:00 and I'm exhausted – I'm running. What are you doing?
