Future Marvel Comics Movies Punisher
Marvel not doing more R-rated movies. Your thoughts?
Marvel Entertainment announced during the week that the company will cease producing R-rated movies on some of its properties in comics, in the near future. As they say, the R-rated movies are a stratgety "off" for them and they will only concentrate in what they call "Triple Threat" movies – films that allow them to earn money not only from ticket sales, but from places like licensing toys and games video. Decesion This came after the lackluster box office performance of its recent past R-rated movie, "Punisher: War Zone."
I was always under the impression that the reason Marvel labels most of his movies is because PG-13 PG-13 is a kind of limbo for the floor classification and allows them to extract higher box office numbers. I would not be surprised if they released the Punisher with the ulterior motive to make sure that they put themselves in a position not doing more R rated movies.
