How much does it cost to hire a guide during a walk in Ecuador?
I am a broke 18 years of age in a year's sabbatical, and I really want to finish my Ecuador fantastic trip per year for 4-6 weeks following Juneish. Hiking and Backpacking sounds fantastic, I was more interested in going through the rainforest and then climb the mountain. When I was in India, it cost me $ 20 per day (5 days) for a backpacking guide, porter, all my food stall / water. It's the same thing in Ecuador? I heard you can do it for money, but how safe is to hire a local rather than through a travel agency? It would be cheaper to go with other people? All my friends are stuck in college, but maybe I can meet some fellow travelers, lovers travelmate.com or something … I I am quite willing to rough it, if this is a question.
DUDE !!!!!!!!! I have no idea what the answer to your question is .. but I was born and raised in Ecuador. I love it. Although some places are really bad, like near the north coast and things I still love it. Good luck to explore my country.
