Getting It Right With Kathy Bowes

I recently had the privilege of interviewing Katy Bowes. Kathy is the founder of a program to help people stop eating others and live a better life.

Kathy thank you for agreeing to talk to me.

KM: There are so many diet programs out there, which makes her different?

KB: Good question.

There are a diet "zillion" of programs out there, there? That's incredible.

And I'm sad for those who are not really helping their clients. Many even set them up for failure.

Hopefully this is not intentional but sometimes I wonder if they are aware that what they are proposing may be benefiting their finances more than the health and happiness of their customers.

Last week I was talking to one of the participants in my new class that has been really struggling to stay in a very popular diet program that provides food refined to its customers. This beautiful woman is bingeing, periodically, feeling terrible about his inability to stay on it.

As I talked to her about as some of us, with a long history of overeating, are sensitive to refined foods, she gave me a packet of salad dressing in this program and I was shocked. Suck was the second ingredient and at two other sites under various names.

I love my favorite sauce, Caesar Paul Newman. It is delicious and sugar does not appear it's ingredients to the point 9. For me, it's better that sugar is an ingredient in the fifth and not just because it works best for my body.

My point is that it is difficult for me to believe that this program does not know that many of his customers are sensitive to sugar. And if they know it, why they place both in its preparation? It is not necessary. There are already tasty, non-addictive dressings available.

And I just found out that another popular program, I tried many times myself, apparently offers two options to their customers. They can choose to focus on portions or eating the right foods.

What struck me as strange when I heard that. For me, it's not an either / or situation. I need to eat healthy, whole foods, not dependency for my particular body and portion sizes that allow me to stay at a weight I like to be.

Meanwhile, I am not able to eat foods with the trigger moderation. So if someone suggested that I just focus on portions, eat any food, I would bingeing in no time.

Ok, back the "happy, joyous and free from The Road Less Traveled with Food."

First of all, is not really a diet. We address we eat, but in a way that is probably different than other approaches.

During the five weeks of Phase I, to learn about the biochemistry of addiction in food and how certain foods may be affecting our body, mind and emotions, and provoke us into a cycle of dependency that makes us unable to control our food and hence weight.

I encourage participants to keep an open mind and become more aware of how they are taking is affecting them, but I did not ask them to change anything, yet. They are usually pleasantly surprised that there is no scale to go on a diet or to start following the initial class.

Until the beginning of Phase II, the action phase, participants are convinced that the way they were eating has affected in a negative way and keep them stuck in its cycle of overeating. They excited to try something different for at least 28 days and based on what we have learned, they choose what they eat and portion sizes for the short period of confidence that what I have to tell them what happened to me will happen to them too.

Essentially, take a leap of faith and stop eating things that they loved and thought I could never live without sugar, such as wheat flour and sweeteners and within a week or more, usually are inactive in class bright and thick tail-telling me that they would have done this long ago.

For me personally, the withdrawal of my particular trigger foods normally takes me 21 days and my habit is set again on the 28th, but the brave women who have ventured forward with me have less sensitive systems and really feel better within a week or so, with few wishes or thoughts trigger here or there.

By the time we began Phase III, however, they are also free and explore other areas of their lives as they release weight. It is a very exciting time and we will celebrate our success in our weekly classes, even dancing and singing, as inspiration, fun songs like "We Are The Champions."

Secondly, was created by someone who really understands this issue and has a deep passion to help others to become liberated from the cycle of overeating.

From age 11-30 I've tried so many diets and different methods and none have worked to long term for me. It was extremely disappointing and when people read my bio, happy, joyous and free On The Road Less Traveled with Food How did I break the bondage of overeating and created a Life I Love, "they say," Man, if you can do it. I can do it! "And that was one of my main intentions when I wrote the book.

It's true. If I can do it, anyone can.

So, I used all my painful experiences for good, met the parts that worked and finally created a way that allowed me to release my excess weight and keep it for the past ten years. The way that works best for me is what I offer through this program.

And the good news is that it is surprisingly easy on the Phase III and is a way of eating and living that can continue with the rest of our lives, if it is working well for us.

I would not be doing this if it was difficult or if it does not make me feel good.

I like to feel good. That's why I thought I was eating, many times. But many experiments have shown me over and over that my food choices and not overweight makes me feel good.

Thirdly, we look at everything in our classes and individual sessions, and not just eat and our weight. Our power is multifaceted. We are multifaceted. And sometimes it helps to look at our belief systems, thought patterns and behaviors, the inner child and adolescent, and any thing appears, which is somehow connected with our food. We create a safe and positive place to do this with each other in our classes and individual sessions.

Moreover, at its core, this is a spiritual program and I created this from a viewing location for all of us, beautiful souls, here on earth for a variety of reasons, only we can decide. People of all faiths are welcome and even those that are not in spirituality can come if they do not care that I see them as an amazing soul having a human experience.

With this as its foundation, however, my concern is not really what participants weigh or what they eat, unless they are blocking them that they know they can be while here on planet Earth.

Every morning, I affirm the following:
My intention, through this program is the following:
World _Bring love and joy! And raise awareness collective process
_Remind People that they are beautiful souls luminous beings of light
_Help They release a self-destructive pattern with food so they can live more happy, joyous and free, enjoy your blessed life, be who they are and do what they love and that they came here on planet earth.

I am a people feel, so my focus is always our happiness, not weight. If I had been able to be truly happy when I was overweight, this program does not exist. I sincerely wanted to be the kind of person who does not worry about my weight or how I looked. But I was not and when I was out of control with my food and carrying excess weight I was feeling depressed, hopeless, ashamed, and many other negative feelings.

So, now participating in my program and I have a way to get rid of too if you ever come back to this cycle. And for nine weeks we are already feeling better and release the weight.

How good we feel, the clarity to realize, and the shot put in hooks to continue doing what we did in Phase II during Phase III and beyond.

I'm just here to support all nodes along the path

KM: What do you do you feel qualified to offer this program?

KB: I think more than anything, my experience and personal passion to help in that area.

I really felt I needed to do my part to help, before I leave the planet Earth, because this issue is not going away. Actually, I started to put my whole year program together for almost four years and then 60 percent of us were overweight or obese, and now the figure is 66-67%.

I feel sadness because of that, because I know there are people out there like me, on my knees, asking the output of your cycle overeating. I do not want them to keep trying methods that can not work for them because of their biochemistry. I do not want them to feel like it is a moral issue or a sign that they have no self-control or self-discipline. I do not want them to feel embarrassed about this or blocked by it. I want them have the freedom I have today, so that they can do something more rewarding with their lives while they are here.

Maybe some of us here on planet Earth as food to eat as much as possible, and it's fantastic. I feel no sentence around this. But for those of us who really do not want do this and we know we're here for something different, now there is a simple, easy, feasible outside and unlimited possibilities await us.

I also I received my master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago with the intention of helping those who want to stop overeating do so, and I finished my second year of probation Rader at the Institute.

KM: What is your success rate?

KB: That depends on what you mean by "success." Each person decides for themselves, I suppose.

Www.kathybowesonline.com In my site you can read some testimonials from participants.

To me, this means that participants are happier, feel more in tune with what they are outside the cycle of overeating, and much more on track with your life purpose. And with that in mind, I say that probably every one of my clients, until now, felt that way while they were meeting with me through classes and individual sessions.

Participants who moved to Phase II and beyond-have experienced freedom from the bondage of the cycle of overeating and weight release which has inspired many to continue the meeting me in Stage III, IV and for some, beyond.

Until a month ago, I was actually still meeting almost every week, with two women in my original class, which took place in November 2003.

We stay connected through e-mails and phone calls, however, and they have been clear to me, so consistent, that this program has changed and increased its life in all areas. They are my biggest supporters, because they know how powerful this approach.

Almost everyone with whom I worked, so far, keep in touch with me, and periodically have an individual face-to-face or phone session with me.

Some continued to eat according to a non-addictive food plan, for their bodies in particular, and are now focused on other areas of their lives and some ask for a little support around back their plans for food when they've gotten out of them.

I was someone who had a relapse a lot that I see how everything good and reliable the process for them and I'm here whenever you need me.

Participants who were committed to our weekly group or contact definitely Weekly have done better.

Most of the world looks at food from a very different way, so it helps to stay connected with those who are doing the same thing.

KM: Is your program hard to follow?

KB: For those who feel inspired to follow him, is so easy and made in a way that supports you every step of the way.

It's way easier than eating too much, leading to excess weight and fighting this cycle.

I call it the easiest way to smooth I was always searching.

Upon first glance, I think it looks like a challenge, but is the kind of thing that builds on itself.

When we eating in a way that allows us to feel happy, free and balanced, our weight and is in a place we like and we feel better about ourselves, and we busy creating lives that we love, and our relationships are loving the action, and we are doing work that inspires us, we look back and say, "I I thought it would be difficult not to eat sugar, but I would not trade my life today, to an ice cream and mother. No way. No how! "

Until you try it, it can be difficult to understand. But once you do, you enjoy the sweetness of life, instead of false sweetness of refined foods that fire back at you.

KM: What is a consultation session with you like?

KB: It's very spontaneous and open.

Stakeholders generally hold, me, a time to talk by phone or to meet me face to face.

During this first session, we usually talk a little about where you are with your nutrition and weight. They share some of his experiences and what they are looking for and I answer your questions about the how the program works.

Then they decide if this sounds like something that would be useful to them and if they can begin to respond individually or join a future class.

KM: What is a group session like?

KB: The groups are very entertaining and edifying. We incorporate some educational pieces, prayers, music and lots of sharing.

It is not uncommon for there to be moments of deep sharing, it brings tears to the gifts and laughter too.

What is really neat to observe, however, is how laughter increases the portion of Phase II and beyond. It's amazing! And inspires me even more to try to encourage participants to give it a shot and see for themselves how good they may feel.

KM: What is the total cost of the program, say to someone who had to lose pounds?

KB: That depends on how long they choose to attend weekly classes and / or weekly individual sessions.

Fees are based the amount of weight lost and each of us releases weight at our own pace.

Individual sessions are $ 60 and two classes of hours costs $ 25. Each guide is $ 27 including taxes. It is extremely reasonable purpose.

I need the support of my son and me, but I want to do this that people can afford.

GC: What is the expected time frame for those who want to lose fifty pounds?

KB: That depends on each person.

With It may be easier to eat smaller portions, and therefore fewer calories when we are not eating foods that are causing us to want to eat more.

Thus, if a participant is equal to me, when they begin Phase II, they will choose to eat whole, non-addictive food for your particular body and in small portions enough to take the eight most rapidly.

During my release cycles of weight, I usually eat between 1200-1700 calories daily and made a point of walking or dance too. Sometimes I was able to take 45 pounds in a few months, and at other times it took me a little more, but I knew it was going in the right direction and weight would eventually leave. And he did!

Some of my participants lost weight in a matter of months and others have chosen to take it more slowly, after his first weight loss as adjusted to the changes that weight loss has brought to them at various levels.

KM: What payment methods do you take?

KB: Cash, checks and PayPal

KM: How does this program would be?

KB: Nearly four years ago when my son was two and a half in preschool, I felt the desire to help those who wanted to stop overeating, be strong again.

Originally, this desire had led me to study in University of Chicago, so I could get my masters in social work and be better prepared to offer advice in this area.

When I began looking around, many of the programs in hospital that the dependence of food comprised the years 1980 and 1990 had closed.

And where I live, but still there are many programs for alcoholics and drug addicts, programs for people with eating disorders have been designed for those suffering from anorexia nervosa and bulimia.

I could not find anything that is designed to help overeaters.

I think our sensibilities and / or dependence of certain substances found in foods and beverages and the consequences of active food addiction is so severe and debilitating as any other addiction, but at that moment, no it seems that many were seeing him that way.

So I decided I would create my own. I wanted a positive, nutrition, education, and a feasible program out there that people all over the world could have access to participate and, if so inspired.

Since then, while facilitating individual sessions and classes along the way, I created this program year and in January this year, I finished my guide book 16.

Only recently I started spreading the word about my program and my willingness to help in this area and I am praying that those who have prayed to find something like this, finding its way to me.

GC: What are other benefits to your program? Besides helping people to stop overeating and lose weight.

KB: Because we are open to cover all appears that there are so many benefits above and beyond the weight loss and cessation of the cycle of overeating.

_Just Parties on each participant to feel closer the God of your understanding.
_They If they feel better and more beautiful.
_Many report that they are not the same person who entered the introductory lesson.

_Some Are much more comfortable with and explore possible relationships and their sexuality, who avoided when they were overweight. It's fun and scary thing, but we talked our way through everything and they come back with fun stories of their growth in this area.

_Some Are better financially, because the changes they are making freed them to put themselves out there more risk-taking and shapes that are paying for them.

_Some Are creating their own businesses because they have more faith in his ability to do something outside the mainstream now.

_Most Are loving the first year time, and taking advantage of the changes it brings to their bodies and then raised endorphins.

_Those That completes the Phase II report that they are more aware of how they feel about things and what they are thinking is very clear. (It's like a fog lifts when we complete withdrawal.)

_They Are also more willing to express themselves with their loved ones, even though they know they can not be supported. We provide support for each other.

Many of us who used overeating, stuffed our feelings and avoid confrontation, and how to eat healthier and feel better about ourselves, we become less willing to do that, but there usually a process of learning to be more assertive and work on the kinds of things in the classroom.

We Cheer each other and celebrate each time we do something that had never done while overweight and isolating with our food trigger.

These are just some examples that come to mind at the moment.

KM: Thanks to Kathy take the time to answer my questions.

KB: Thank you, Karen. I appreciate your time and hope you can find the main points here.

Take very carefully
Kathy
