The IPod Nano Versatile G5 – video camera Pedometer All in One!

The fifth-generation iPod nano is a new electronic marvel! It packs so many powerful things is like an incredibly small and sleek body that is unbelievable.

All these years I shied away from purchasing an iPod for the simple reason that can take so much of my time to my writing and other interests can suffer for lack of time. But when I read that the new iPod nano can record and play videos in addition to recording voice and music, I kind of started looking more curious. I began to read its specifications and features. When I thought he was world clock, which could show me the time in four cities around the globe, at the same time, stopwatch, alarm, calendar, memo notes, contacts and games that my ears perked up. But the feature they finally broke my resistance was that he worked as a pedometer as well! That did it! I fell for it and bought it immediately.

But it was my first iPod and Apple's first handset here. I had no idea how to work it. I read the skimpy manual that was done to people familiar with the devices Apple, not for a first timer like me. When I connected the unit, I could not run up and down the menu as I tried in vain to press the arrow keys that I was used in TV remote control. I was frustrated beyond words. After an hour or so I discovered the secret scroll up and down the menu just an accident. You have to brush your finger in a circular motion around the wheel! Time to go down and left to go to the menu! Eureka! I felt flattered. The button on top of the iPod which I assume was the ON-OFF button has not done such a thing. It was an option run to reset the iPod, in the unlikely event when she dropped and stopped working. I soon became an expert. Press Menu to return to the screen at a time, and draw in the ring with the thumb wheel to select the menu and press the Center button to move to the next screen.

I downloaded and installed iTunes on my computer. The program took off the music on my hard drive and converted it to iPod. I connected the iPod and then sync finished with iTunes. Although iTunes got two. Mov movie clips to my desk and put them on the screen that iTunes does not sync with iPod and a message appeared that it was not a format that could be played on the iPod nano. Likewise I found that the films I had filmed using my camera Panasonic could not be synchronized to the iPod. You need to convert movies MP4 format for loading on to the iPod. Later, I searched the net and downloaded the software to convert videos to iPod. You can find it at www (.) ZSoft E (.) Comm However, the movies I shot with the iPod can be downloaded on my computer and they play well. The iPod camera is very good at taking movie clips, although the lens position is something we have to get used to.

I was not expecting the iPod to play music without turning on the headphones, and I was pleasantly surprised when it did. The sound is good, but the volume is barely audible through my shirt pocket. But you could keep the back of the iPod to hear and appreciate music without the headphones properly. The action is welcome when you hear the voice notes. With headphones, the sound quality is excellent.

I was pleased to see the audio output jack is a full size (3.5 mm) and not a mini. I could plug in my stereo and play music from the iPod. It sounded great! However I have not had any success playing the video clip via the AV cable that I bought separately. He appeared on my Panasonic home theater projector. I took it back to the store that tried it and said that, despite their black iPod nano packaging says it does not seem to work in the latest version. He would give me as and when received the new AV cable compatible with the new nano. But this is certainly a blemish on Apple Inc. Why not make common to all the accessaries? It only adds the inventory, make accessaries obsolete the old and increases costs.

I turned on the iPod pedometer put it in my pocket on the right side and walked in my garden and began to count the steps. I stopped after a couple of laps when I had 485 stairs and looked at the iPod. He had recorded 487 steps! The pedometer really works. I then held in my hand trying to keep it as stable as possible as I've been watching the screen. IPod faithfully recorded my every step. I wonder how Apple did this trick I do not know of any pedometer that can do that.

I plugged the iPod in my column IM5 inMotion dock Altech and played some wonderful music. But the radio had not work on the docks. I put the headphones on the radio and it worked. It probably uses the headphone wires as a sort of an antenna. So I tried turn the iPod on the speaker through the aux. input with a cable that could serve as an antenna, but the radio still does not work.

I then plugged in my iTrip FM Transmitter for iPod and set the frequency of 100 MH. This worked well when my radio was connected to the same frequency. I turned on the FM radio in my car and played from the iPod Louis Armstrong "When the Saints go marching" as a salute to the Apple Inc. iPod wonder.

Overall I'm happy I bought the iPod nano. He will be my companion in my pocket wherever I go. I shed my fear and aversion to the little I had for the Apple product. Congratulations to Apple Inc. to come up with a fantastic product handy and useful addition to consumers music lovers!
