Fantastic 4 Dunks

2009 December 18

fantastic 4 dunks
The Best Big Man of the 90′s Of the 6 big man I have picked that dominated the 90′s who would u pick from 1-6

Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Karl Malone

And I didn’t just look at the championships but individual play!

(I know I’m going to get Heat from the Shaq-fans)

6)Patrick Ewing: Didn’t win a championship but did anchor the best match-ups against Jordan.(That baseline Dunk by Jordan!)

5) The Admiral: Lost to Hakeem but was a fantastic player

4)”Sir Charles” He carried his team to the Finals but got served by Jordan in a decent performance.

3)”The Mailman” b/c he always delivered. I would have put Barkley before Malone b/c Barkley didn’t have anyone like Stockton but Malone always delivered.

2)Shaq-The leagues most dominating force since Wilt Chamberlaine. Nobody could stop, “The Diesel.” They even invented the HackaShaq

1)Hakeem-Was very versatile not as strong as Shaq but could hit a fade-away like any guard today. And one of the best blockers of all-time!
And I have to say

Honarable Mention: Dikembe

You want the real deal? OK, here goes:

1) Hakeem Olajuwon: Led the Rockets to three NBA Finals (’86, 94, and ’95) and winning two (’94 and ’95). He will always be remembered for having some of the best footwork in the NBA. He beat out Patrick Ewing in the ’94 NBA Finals and destroyed David Robinson and Shaquille O’Neal in the ’95 playoffs. Beating David Robinson had more to do with having a complete game put together and beating Shaq had to do with not just him, but the Rockets were way more experienced than their counterparts.

2) Shaquille O’Neal: He was one of the most unstoppable big men of the 90′s because once he got the ball in the paint, it was a wrap! He was such a force that later on, teams had to adjust the way they defend him because he was just so big and moved so fast! Even the NBA created rules to benefit Shaq and the way other teams defend players in the low post.

3) Charles Barkley: Even though he was billed as being 6’4″, he played with the intensity of someone who was 7’4″! He could bully you with his strength and grab rebounds at will! The only thing that stopped him from winning a championship was the greatest player to ever lace up a pair of basketball shoes–Michael Jordan! That ’93 season will always be remembered as his best season.

4) David Robinson: Quiet demeanor, but his game made a lot of noise! What made him so great was before Tim Duncan ever joined the Spurs, Robinson was always the go-to guy, but he was gracious enough to take him under his wing, mentor him, and because of that, he’s got two rings! Awesome team player!

5) Patrick Ewing: Even though he didn’t win a ring, he was part of some of the most epic battles in the history of the NBA. Remember the Knicks/Bulls rivalry from ’91 to ’93? What about the Knicks/Heat rivalry in the late part of the ’90′s? In those years, Patrick Ewing WAS the New York Knicks!

6) Karl Malone: “The Mailman” could deliver everything…..except a title! ‘Nuff said! He’s one of the best scorers in NBA history, but people are always going to put an asterisk by him and say that he didn’t win a ring. He’s the second greatest PF in the game, to Tim Duncan. Even though Duncan is the center now, when he played alongside The Admiral, he was a PF for a number of years until Robinson retired.
