Teachers will find their work a great deal easier and more fun if they access their resources from child-friendly websites. When the website is set up especially with children in mind, the teacher can be happy in knowing that this information is easy for the child to understand and use in either the classroom or for homework.
Educational directories on the Internet are organised in a way that is easy for both teacher and child to use. And when both access the same or similar websites for their resources they can be sure that the information interrelates in a way that makes sense. In fact, many websites contain resources for both teacher and student.
Finding teacher resources is not always an easy task. Libraries are focussed more on students and the general public rather than offering teacher resources. Even school and university libraries have more resources for the student than the teacher. Therefore, educational websites that are set up especially by teachers or educational institutions for teachers have the edge in providing what is necessary and relevant to the teachers needs.
When choosing from the many educational websites, be sure to find those that are reputable and easy to navigate. A website that is not easy to navigate says something about the products they sell. Of course, fantastic products may be offered, but if they are really difficult to access then the busy teacher is more likely to go looking somewhere else.
The benefit of using teacher resources from the Internet is that you can often find free downloadable and printable lesson plans, clip art, black line masters and other helpful tools to use in teaching your class. These tools make lessons easier and more fun not only for students, but for the teacher. And when learning is fun for all, then it becomes something that students look forward to instead of dreading and trying to avoid.
