some sentences in the magazine confuse me so much!who can give me a favor?

I read a magazine today,one of the articles titled “50 fantastic reasons to be happy” confuse me.
some reasons don’t make sense to me.
here are some:1.Girl Scout
2.har scrunchies
3.getting your braces off(what does “braces off”mean?)
4.talking to friends on IM
5.curling up with a good book and ice cream(“curl up”what does it mean?)

Are you sure #1 isn’t Girl Scout Cookies? They’re delicious and might be a reason to be happy.
#2 Hair scrunchies are little elastic and fabric things that girls hold their hair back with. They’re usually brightly colored and fun.
#3 Braces are metal pieces that are put on peoples teeth to straighten them. They’re uncomfortable and painful so having them taken off of your teeth is a happy day.
#4 IM=Instant Message Sort of like email but quicker or instant
#5 Curling up is being somewhere comfortable, warm, and quiet – you usually sit with your legs curled underneath you, maybe a blanket over your lap, relaxed and with your favorite book.
