Superheroes and supervillains, who must go to our game?
My friend and I are working on a video game that is going to join many heores super and super villains as possible, we are looking for ideas, and please, none of that "NINJA TURTLES!" crap, we're looking for real superheroes. We have started a list so here we already have on our list, these characters are subject to change: Spider-Man Ghost Rider Venom Daredevil Iron Man The Hulk Mr. Fantastic Invisible Woman Human Torch thing Doctor Doom Green Goblin Doc Oc Sandman Abomination Iron Monger Carnage War Machine Captain America Nick Fury Juggernaut Elektra Wolverine Magneto Mystique Toad Iceman Jean Grey Cyclops Nightcrawler Storm Superman Batman Flash Green Arrow Green Lantern Punisher Aquaman Wonder Woman Wasp think we have a decent list so far, but any suggestions would be helpful.
Just curious, have you considered the legal implications of using the characters that you have called? They are not in the public domain, and certainly the impression that you are not liscensed to use any of the characters, nor intend to. Marvel paralegals has control public places like this trying to find and shut down any site that offers checks or files of any material copyrighted by Marvel. If they are willing to serve a Cease and Desist order from a site that has scans of some of Spider-Man and / or X-Men stories, imagine what would someone who seemingly has the intent to pirate their characters for a video game. I advise you to consider the use of or using any original characters "heroes" of the field public. The link below is "Bill Nolan Pure Excitement Comics," which presents a wealth of stories that have public domain "superheroes" if this will help. Personally, I would not be interested in another video game using Marvel characters, as there are so many already, but I'd be intrigued by a video game that featured characters that did not appear anywhere in more than fifty years.
