There is a Captain America movie which will go into production soon. A few weeks ago, Production Weekly published what they say is full plot synopsis of the film.

"Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, due his weakness and illness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to participate in a special experiment … Operation: Rebirth. "After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the 'Super-Soldier Serum' and bombarded by 'vita-rays. Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then subjected to an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he received his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America continues its war against evil, both as a sentinel of liberty and leader of the Avengers. "
The problem I have with him is that he does not say much about the story than is the origin of the character, which is not a secret and commonly known. It does not say exactly what the plot will be. Will he be fighting against the Nazis and Germany, or communism and Russia, Japan to stop its attacks against the U.S.? Will the film take place before, during and after World War 2? Again it is still in preproduction. Or they have not chosen a site or want to keep people on their toes.
I do not think this is the first film of Captain America. A film low budget Captain America portrayed by Matt Salinger – Never heard of him later – was released in 1990, but due to several delays, he went straight to DVD. Sorry I meant video, they have back then. In this film, Captain America was frozen in Alaska and out of "hibernation" 57 years after (1936-1993), then went after his nemesis, Red Skull, who was still alive. I wonder if the movie will have the same configuration. If so, it will wake up after half a century, as the first film or the twenty-first century – the present time if you prefer -. The war just twenty first century that I can see him fight is thus terrorism! Maybe he will travel to Afghanistan or something. Now that will be funny.
The script will be written by Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand, The Incredible Hulk) and David Self (Road To Perdition, Beyond). A Co-Captain America-creators, Jack Kirby, died of congestive Heart on February 6, 1994 to 77 years old, but he will still receive credit as a writer.
The film will be produced by Avi Arad (The Hulk, Iron Man). There are currently no director attached to it. The big question is who will play Captain America?
There have been many rumors that the actors take paper: first was Matthew McConaughey – The Wedding Planner, was not so bad – Leonardo DiCaprio – Titanic Who can forget – even Will Smith – I think it could have been influenced by the proximity of his race to a particular presidential candidate. I wonder if he wins will increase the chance of getting the role of Will. – Anyway no word has been said yet.
When everything is set and is ready to start shooting, we'll find out who is the director and the actors are.
The First Avenger: Captain America is scheduled to hit theaters on May 6, 2011.
We will be able to see the other Avengers a few months later in The Avengers on July 5, 2011.
Other Marvel Superhero scheduled to hit theaters are Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine – The title made me think: this means that we should be looking for other movies like X-Men Origins: Magneto or Storm or other mutant characters? – May 1, 2009, and Thor in 2010 16 jul.
