I plan on buying some Batman graphic novels. Can anyone recommend any new player like me?

I usually read comics such as Captain America, Thunderbolts and Astonishing X-Men. For me, anything written by Ed Brubaker and Warren Ellis is good. I recently started collecting and reading Geoff John Green Lantern heard some good things about him. The problem is that these comics take ages to get out and I'm starting to feel bored and want to read something while waiting for them to leave. I'm considering buying some Batman comics, but really do not know where to start. Can anyone recommend some good graphic novels of Batman a beginner like me? Thanks, I appreciate your input.

Well, I would start with any Batman Year One (not really my favorite, but do not set one of the cornerstones for the character of Batman over the past 20 years or more) or The Long Halloween and its sequel, Dark Victory. Then a death in the family and a lonely place die. These are really excellent. In terms of chronology, the next event "Knightfall would be (It's in 3 parts), followed by contagion. They are good, but not really essential reading, IMO. Somewhere in the middle, you should read The Killing Joke. It is set shortly before death in the family and will show you one of the main points Turning to one of the members of the supporting cast. contagion takes the Cataclysm that leads to part maxi-series 5: No Man's Land. There is a trade later, called Evolution, that did not do much for me. Officer Down is a good deal better. Then there's Bruce Wayne Murderer / Fugitive (3 volumes). Then come War Drums, Games War and war crimes – which are good, but not the greatest. The next trade I recommend is under the hood. This will take you about 2005.There are Subsequent trades, but I have not been paying attention since I usually buy my comics alone now. That should be more than enough to get you in however.
