Top Ten comic book characters

There are thousands of comic book characters in existence from past to present. Many are well known, while the Most are more obscure to the general public public. And while top ten lists are often subjective and based on opinion, there are some characters in comics will be discussed in this article that are worthy of this distinction by most standards. These are in random order.

Superman – No is absolutely can not be a top ten list of comic book characters, without the Man of Steel. He is one of the first (possibly the first) superhero for ever the grace of the world in four colors, and so his story is one of the richest. He is also one of the most popular in both comic and the world as seen by the public in general. He represents truth, justice, fairness and morality. And while many find it difficult to relate to him, those same people look at their characteristics and admire his altruistic spirit.

Batman – It is not so altruistic, but is so popular and loved the Dark Knight. He can not always do the right thing, or do it the right way, but his motives are always pure, and his intention is always clear. He is the hero of a man thinking, but he is also a warrior hero. He is well rounded and complete, and a little sandy, and that's why I like him.

Spider-Man – The Boy Next Door, the common man, the geeky kid a great majority of us can relate to winning the odds and becomes something great. Spider-Man gives us hope we can achieve that greatness even in our own special ways. He is truly a flagship and a true hero to the core, always trying to do the right thing, but often, messing it horribly, proving that he is still human, and thus it increasingly attractive to our hearts.

Lex Luthor – The arch-enemy of the "Blue Boyscout, Superman, Lex Luthor is all kinds of evil wrapped up in a suit and money tight, man. He is fiendishly clever and cruel, Supes and he never lets him sleep on the job. Cement his legacy as one of the greatest villains of all time, Luthor wins our allegiance to the depth its character and its purposes.

Captain America – Maybe not so popular in modern times, as it was in the days of World War II World, when he first appeared in the comic scene, but still a symbol of America and the classic comic Gold and Silver ages. Captain America moved and then he sees the world a little differently than the rest of us. He sees things as they should be on your mind, which is not always the most popular view. He is often portrayed as a scout, but frankly it is much deeper than that, and therein lies the appeal.

Wolverine – Overused or not, Logan is one of the most popular comic book characters in existence today. When he first burst onto the scene in the revived X-Men, he quickly won an eternal fan base because of the difference that he brought to the table. He is not your typical hero benefactor, though he always does, to fight for the right cause. He is temperamental, sometimes insecure, rude, crude and unpredictable. He is a loner with a heart of gold and a penchant for violence. He is a anti-hero who does not have crap, but at the same time, he cares deeply about those he surrounds himself with. And it is these complexities that make it stand out in our minds.

Wonder Woman – The first female superhero received, Wonder Woman is by far the most popular female comic book character the book so far. She comes from a world where women are dominant, which gained its popularity in the early women's liberation movement. She is the head-to-head and an equal to any male superhero, and she shows them many times. She is strong, beautiful, intelligent heroine and yet with a feminine costume that has become most iconic.

The Joker – The Batman thorn in the side of reason deserves a place on the list of epic battles with his' Caped Crusader. "From All comic book characters in the realm of superheroes, there is no good as the Joker. He is manic, insane and ruthless, but charming, smooth and youthful the same time. He is a mass murderer and a child murderer, and he is obsessed with Batman. He's too crazy not to love!

The Flash – If Underoos and t-shirts are any indication, the Flash is one of the most notable icons and popular comic book characters of all time. He is a fan-favorite Readers of comics and comic fans do not either. He is known around the world and his trademark red suit with white and yellow lightning bolt circle are immediately recognized. But more than looks, is his power and his wit to his land in this list. He is one of the original superhero comic relief in the genre with his sarcastic and humorous play that rivals that of Spider-Man. And who does not love the speed super powers? He is the best at it.

The Incredible Hulk – Mr. Green Genes, has made this list just for his iconic status in the world of comics and more. He is a classic hero who gained notoriety through comic book, television and film. And with the popularity of the second Hulk movie, which just launched, his star will only continue to rise. Couple that with the huge success of Planet Hulk and an incredible is a force to be reckoned with. Whether it's his intense power, or the dynamics between power and the weak, but intelligent alter-ego Bruce Banner, we love you no matter what.

There are many other comic book characters who could have easily made this list, such as Magneto, Iron Man Robin, Green Lantern, Professor X and many others. The names represented above, however, are undoubtedly some of the greatest comic book characters ever made.
